About Us
The movement behind the name
Movement of Empowerment Association (MOEA) — known in Malay as Persatuan Pemantapan Anak Muda — is a youth organisation born in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Who we are
MOEA is a youth-led non-governmental organisation based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We create platforms, programmes and communities that help young people grow — in business, as individuals, within their communities, and through art and culture.
Our badge tells our story: a raised fist at the centre of four colours — one for each pillar of empowerment. Business teaches young people to build. Individual teaches them to believe. Community teaches them to belong. Art & Culture teaches them to express who they are.
From workshops and bazaars to volunteering drives and cultural showcases, everything we do comes back to one idea: Empowering the youth of Sabah to rise, together.
Our Vision
A generation of Sabahan youth who are confident, capable and connected — leaders of their own future.
Our Mission
To empower young people in Sabah through meaningful programmes across our four pillars: Business, Individual, Community, and Art & Culture.
What we value
Empowerment
We equip youth with skills, platforms and confidence to stand on their own.
Unity
We bring together young people of every background across Sabah.
Service
We give back to the communities that raised us.
Creativity
We celebrate ideas, expression and Sabahan culture.
